A few days after Abu Tharr’s departure, came a new revelation called Al-Inshirah or Ash-Sharh (The Consolation/Solace—literally, untying ropes tightly binding a harness to a camel), with a rhyming refrain:

Alam nashrah laka sadhrak

Did We not relieve the tightness compressing your chest

Wa wadha‘na ‘anka wizrak

And did We not cast off the mountain of burdens weighing you down

Al-lathi anqadha thahrak?

A feeling of hopelessness that had bent your back nearly to the breaking point?

Wa rafa‘na laka thikrak?

And did We not raise you from obscurity, establishing your renown far and wide?

Fa inna ma‘al ‘usri yusra.

Then remember well, when the obstacle is defined, potential solutions flow with ease.

Inna ma‘al ‘usri yusra.

When the obstacle is defined, potential solutions flow without limit.

Fa itha faraghta fansab.

Therefore, once you refocus your perspective, stand up straight with confidence.

Wa ila rabbika farghab.

And remain unwavering in trusting your Cosmic Mentor’s wise guidance.
